    August.29.2024

On August 28, 2024, during the working visit of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, to the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Memorandum of Understanding on fraternal port relations was signed between the Turkmenbashi International Seaport and the Amirabad Port of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Currently, Turkmenistan is actively developing international cooperation, paying particular attention to strengthening economic relations with neighboring countries. One of the clear examples of such cooperation is the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Turkmenbashi International Seaport and Amirabad Port of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This Memorandum, concluded as part of high-level bilateral talks, opens up new prospects for the development of the maritime transport network between the two countries. The memorandum envisages cooperation in the following areas: Exchange of experience in port management: The parties will share best practices in port management, which will improve the efficiency of both ports. Training of Professionals: Joint training programs will be implemented for the port sector, which will provide advanced professionals in the ports of both sides. Amirabad Port is one of the largest ports in Iran, located on the southern coast of the Caspian Sea. The port has modern infrastructure and is capable of receiving various types of vessels. Like Turkmenbashi port, Amirabad port plays an important role in the development of the economy of the region and the country as a whole. The signing of the memorandum of understanding on fraternal port relations between Turkmenbashi International Sea Port and Amirabad Port of the Islamic Republic of Iran is an important step in strengthening the bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, and will contribute to the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries, as well as good neighborliness. It demonstrates their commitment to the principles of mutual respect and mutually beneficial cooperation.
