The transit of goods through Iran increased by 56%

IRICA reported on Sunday that in the first two months of the Iranian calendar year (March 20-May 20), more than 3.6 million tons of goods were transported through Iran. This is 56.5% more than the corresponding period of last year. The Parvizhan customs office on Iran's western border with Iraqi Kurdistan registered 1.07 million tons of goods during the two months, accounting for 29.5% of foreign transit. The Shahid Rajai customs office in the south of the country ranks second in terms of foreign transit in the corresponding period, registering 893,000 tons of goods. In addition, 474,000 tons of goods passed through the Shomak Customs House, which connects Iran with Iraq, making this transit point the third largest on this route. During this period, the largest growth of foreign transit occurred in Piranshahr, Sarahs and Parvizhan customs offices, which increased by 726%, 294% and 238% respectively.
