Kasym-Jomart Tokayev invited President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to visit Kazakhstan and participate in the upcoming important forums in Astana. "Vatan" news program reported that the Kazakhstani leader said this during his telephone conversation with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on August 5. As planned, the sixth consultative meeting of the Heads of State of the Central Asian countries and the first Summit of the "Central Asia + Japan" dialogue will be held in Astana in the coming days. Thanking his Kazakh counterpart for the invitation, Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the initiatives to be presented at the upcoming meetings will help to identify new opportunities for cooperation in the region, and wished for the success of those events. During the phone conversation, they expressed interest and exchanged views on the priority areas of bilateral cooperation, which are being actively developed in various areas. The issue of implementing joint projects, in particular, joint projects in the gas, energy and transport sectors, was widely discussed. Also, during the conversation, it was noted the importance of coordination of efforts at the regional level in the face of new threats. It was confirmed that Turkmenistan is firmly committed to the further strengthening of friendly-fraternal and good-neighborly relations with all the countries of the region.
