On September 3, 2024, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the members of the delegation headed by Sultan Raev, Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkish Culture (TURKSOY). The important issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and TURKSOY were on the agenda of the meeting. As mentioned, the year 2024 is a significant year for Turkmenistan in the Turkic-speaking world, because this year, on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great classic poet and thinker of the Eastern literature, TURKSOY named "The Great Poet and Thinker of the Turkic World" The year of Magtymguly Pyragy", and the city of Anev was declared the cultural capital of the Turkic world. The participants of the event paid special attention to the issues related to the organization of joint events to be held in the near future to promote the creativity of the great thinker and poet Magtymguly Pyragy and the cultural importance of the ancient city of Anev. At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors emphasized the fruitful nature of cooperation between Turkmenistan and TURKSOY aimed at preserving, studying and promoting the very rich cultural heritage of the Turkic-speaking peoples.
