President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who is on a visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, met today in Astana with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Issues of further strengthening of friendly, good neighborly and strategic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan were discussed at the meeting. Particular attention was paid to increasing the volume of mutual trade and developing cooperation projects in stable sectors of the economy, including industry, energy, agriculture and transport. The importance of expanding interregional relations and activating cultural-humanitarian exchange programs was noted. It is also noted in the report that they discussed other issues on the agenda of the region.
