Kyrgyzstan Expects to Open New Route via Turkmenistan

    July.15.2024

Kyrgyzstan expects to open a new route through Turkmenistan, said the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov, Trend reports. He stated this during his speech at the plenary session of the 25th Kyrgyz-Russian intergovernmental commission and the 11th Kyrgyz-Russian interregional conference in Krasnoyarsk (Russia). During his speech, he said that he expects to open a new transport route for the delivery of goods to Russia and back across the Caspian Sea in the near future. "Joint work is underway to develop an international multimodal route for the delivery of goods from Kyrgyzstan to Russia via Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan using a sea ferry crossing on the Caspian Sea. I hope that we will launch this new route in the near future, which will contribute to the growth of trade turnover between our countries," he said.
