President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated Ursula von der Leyen on her re-election as the President of the European Commission. Expressing his commitment to strengthening relations with the European Union, the Turkmen leader said that Turkmenistan supports the development of these relations within the framework of regional cooperation between Central Asia and the European Union and is ready to make efforts to develop mutually beneficial cooperation in promising areas, according to the press release of TDH. On July 18, von der Leyen was re-elected President of the European Commission (the highest executive body of the European Union) for a five-year term until 2029. His candidacy was supported by 401 deputies of the European Parliament, 284 voted against, and 15 abstained.
